Description: This dataset represents Protected Areas (National Protected Areas, National Parks, Biosphere Reserves) across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The boundaries of marine and terrestrial protected areas in Abu Dhabi are depicted in this layer. These areas are either established or proposed protected areas beginning from 1998. The protected area type is along with the status type and purpose of each PA. There are other protected areas in the emirate of Abu Dhabi managed by other authorities such as Private Departments, Emirates Heritage Club, etc. and these are not included in this layer. The purpose of the data layer is to be able to manage and monitor the designated protected areas.
